The Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Resource Center, which operates weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, provides basic daily living amenities, such as access to an ADA restroom, shower, laundry facilities, telephone, computer with internet access and fresh drinking water.
As well, interested homeless and indigent clients are assessed and referred to social, medical, mental health, employment, job training and life skills. As a central clearinghouse for all homeless services, staff caseworkers and professionals from various agencies, including Border Region MHMR, SCAN and South Texas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, evaluate each individual’s short-term and long-term needs and provide case management services through a variety of programs.
A primary goal is to provide access to services for those that have the will to become stable, improve their life skills, and reintegrate themselves into the workforce.
