Breakfast and lunch are served to approximately 35 children at the Bethany House Learning Center each Saturday as part of its educational programs. Most of the children (and their families) are or have at some point received services from the agency.
As well, the Kid’s Café Program, an after school feeding program, serves children at 7 public housing community centers. Since 2001, the Bethany House has prepared hot meals for an average of 300 children 4 days a week. As well, children residing at the Bethany House shelter complex have access to daily hot meals.
This program has proved to be instrumental in assuring that children with challenging family realities do not go to bed hungry, and are prepared for the next school day.
