 “To feed the hungry and shelter the homeless”
The original mission is to provide hot meals for the homeless, indigent, elderly, veterans and disabled on the premises at 819 Hidalgo Street, Laredo, Texas. Since 1982, the mission has expanded to include meal delivery services to the homebound indigent individuals and families. As well, Bethany House has become a distribution center for nonperishable food and beverage items. The mission continued to grow and expand until it included a clothing distribution center for needy school children, the indigent, families in crisis and homeless individuals free of charge. After years of dedication and work by many, in 2006 the mission expanded once more to include an emergency shelter and transitional housing complex, a safe place where basic life amenities and services for anyone in a life crisis or in need during inclement weather. |
